The CEO of Inyene Agro Processing Factory, makers of 'Garri wey go Harvard',Blessing Akpan has arrived France to speak at the Nutrition for Growth 2025 Summit in Paris.
On March 27th and 28th, 2025, France will host the Nutrition for Growth Summit (N4G) in Paris. The summit is a premier international conference that brings together experts in the field of nutrition, agriculture, and food security. This year's conference will focus on innovative solutions for sustainable nutrition and food systems.
Akwa Ibom born Blessing Akpan, a renowned expert in agricultural entrepreneurship and nutrition,will deliver an address on "Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition Security in Africa.Her presentation will highlight the importance of sustainable agricultural practices in ensuring nutrition security, particularly in African countries.
Nutrition relates directly to the achievement of SDG2 and SDG3 and impacts the realization of 11 out of 17 SDGs. It is at the core of intertwined issues such as health,universal health coverage, food systems, humanitarian affairs, climate change,biodiversity and soil health, gender equality and many more.
Blessing Akpan,Managing Director of Inyene Agro Processing Factory Ltd is a sought-after Akwa Ibom daughter that is disrupting the global food system, she is currently the International Advisory Group member on Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit 2025,where all UN agencies, world leaders are gathered to set the pace on winning the war against malnutrition in all its forms, putting strategies in place to achieve world food security by 2030.
Blessing is also the Scale-Up-Nutrition Business Network( SBN) south-south Deputy Hub lead.
In recognition of her exploits,she won Akwa Ibom State Government Community Service Award,Tony Elumelu Foundation grant, World bank grant(AkCares),Google Hustle Academy grant, her research work in collaboration with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and partnering with Germany born Dr Collins to make headsway on resilient rules and its effect on climate change.
